Review
Tim Powers never fails to grad you and drag you along with the sheer velocity of his stories. I loved this book, and ended up staying awake until 4am on a work night just so I could finish it. It’s full of psychics and Jewish mysticism and complicated time paradoxes, and I loved every minute of it once I got going.
My only criticism (and the reason why it gets a 9 instead of a 10) is that the early part of the book felt a little rushed. Mind-blowing events and mystical happenings occurred one after another, and we, the reader, just had to grab on and pay attention. I felt like this could easily have expanded to the length and detail of Last Call and it would have felt less rushed.
