I’d been thinking about having a Stephen King marathon since I’ve got so many of his books on my to-read shelf, but I initially held off and started Quicksilver instead. I ended up making it about 90 pages into Quicksilver before I picked up this book instead, and I’m glad I did. It was a quick read, a great “can’t put it down” novel even at 700+ pages, and highly enjoyable, even though some developments late in the book make the ending a bit sad and a bit bittersweet. I’m pretty sure I will in fact run through a bunch of Stephen King books pretty soon, I’ll just have to decide where to start next, and whether I want to try and read more of Quicksilver first.
