I started reading this because I liked the series so much and I was impatient for more stories about Dexter. Season 1 of the show basically re-worked this book into a season arc, so a lot of the plot was very similar. However, after comparing both, I liked the changes the series made to the story. A lot of the things they changed make a lot more sense or tell the story in a more interesting way.
