Glad you lost some weight, it's always nice to see real data that confirms that what you have been doing has some value. Hope you can stick with it after the newness wears off. They say you have to do something for either 21 or 23 days in a row to make it a habit. And a good habit, like exercise or good eating, is difficult to regain after breaking it, as I know from personal experience. Love, Dad

This reminds me of something i just read in the book i'm reading now (the Woman in the Dunes) so i thought i would share here -

"Saying you want to become a writer is no more than egotism; you want to distinguish between you and the puppets by making yourself a puppeteer."

Not necessarily a comment on this entry per se - just wanted to say, every time I visit your blog, I am more impressed than I was the last time. You really "get it," that's all I can say. :)

interesting points, but I also think it depends on the people who are around. Just because you have gleaned certain aspects about a show in your life (reading internet articles, seeing commercials, etc.)doesn't mean that other people have. For instance, I still don't know what happens at the end of Sopranos and I can't wait to find out and I would be PISSED if someone told me. I think it's folly to assume certain things are common knowledge. In fact, I don't think there is a line - if someone said they had never seen Star Wars, I would be very careful not to mention that Darth Vader is Luke's father. I think this robs the person of that shock and experience, even though that might be considered "pop culture common knowledge," and they might be a complete "idiot" for not knowing that. Ones experience with a movie or TV show is a very personal thing, and I think it's something to be respected - bottom line, you gotta respect people's wishes to be left "out of the loop" if they want to stay there - it's not on them to stay on top of what's going on in any TV show.

I find that it's easier to just not mention major plot points online (it's easy for me because I don't have any sort of blog to discuss it on anyway) but whenever I'm talking to friends I usually just ask them if they know something about a show without revealing anything or if they care if I spoil it. It seems to work every time for me.

Yeah, that looks great, but it's a terrible trailer. You can't just give that away. I'm trying to imagine the thinking that went into that.
