well, i’ve finished act one of my play. right now it stands at 40 pages, which is the most i’ve written of a new play in a long time. things are actually going pretty swimmingly right now. i started around 3 AM and wrote for about three hours and got a good 13 pages knocked out, and then i took a break and went to breakfast. i think act two will be anywhere from 20-30 pages long.
i feel really good about the stuff i’ve written. i already know for a fact that this play is shaping up to be a hell of a lot better than even the first draft of sweeten the punch, which was all over the place and flailing. this one actually knows where it’s going.
now i just have to stay awake to write the rest of it. maybe i’ll go take a shower, even though i took one right before i started.
